Obituary for Donald L. Graver

Donald “Donnie” Lee Graver, 75, of Lehighton, PA died on Monday, July 31, 2017 in Mahoning Valley, PA. He was the husband of Darlene Marie (nee Heffelfinger) Graver to whom he was married 55 years. Born in Lehighton on January 17, 1942, Donnie was a son of the late Reuben and Iris (nee Crowe) Graver. A 1959 graduate of Lehighton High School, he served in the Navy during the Vietnam War. Donnie retired in 2011 from Interstate Dress Carriers where he was employed as a welder but also had been employed in various positions with other companies throughout his lifetime. He was a member of St. John Lutheran Church in the Heights, Jim Thorpe, PA and a former member of the Democratic Club. An Eagles and NASCAR fan, Donnie was quick-witted and enjoyed making people laugh. He is survived by his wife, Darlene; son, Don Graver of Bethlehem; daughters, Donna Miller and her husband Jeff of Lehighton and Lori Greene of Lehighton; grandsons, Stephen Greene of Lehighton and Trevor Miller and his wife Jackie of Emmaus; brother, Stanley Graver of Lehighton; sister, Kay Haupt of Knoxville, TN; and several nephews and nieces. A memorial service will be held at 11 AM on Monday, August 14 in St. John Lutheran Church, 319 South Avenue, Jim Thorpe with The Rev. Peter Muhr officiating. Interment in Angelica’s Memorial Prayer Garden at the church will follow the service. Call 10-11 AM prior to the service at the church. Memorials in Donnie’s name may be made to Angelica’s Memorial Prayer Garden, c/o St. John Lutheran Church in the Heights, 319 South Avenue, Jim Thorpe, PA 18229.
