Obituary for James A. Grube

James A. Grube, 99, of Lehighton and formerly of Bethlehem Township passed away on Saturday, September 29, 2018 at St. Luke’s Summit Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Lehighton. He was the companion of Bette Nagel.
Born in Easton he was the son of the late Alfred W. and Edna M. (Myers) Grube.
James worked as a conductor for 42 years on the Lehigh Valley Railroad and Conrail in Allentown and was the conductor on one of the two trains used when Queen Elizabeth of England was in the United States. He retired in 1982.
He was a WWII veteran serving in the US Army from 1941-45, reaching the rank of CPL.
James was a member of the former St. Mark’s United Church of Christ in Easton for 82 years, now the New Creation United Church of Christ, a member of the Easton F.A.M. Lodge 152, member of Tall Cedars of Lebanon # 35, a Lehigh Consistory 32degree Mason of Allentown, Crescent Temple AAONMS of Trenton, NJ , a member of the Brotherhood of Railroad Trainman and a 42 year member of the United Transportation Union in Cleveland, OH.

He is survived by his companion and predeceased by his Sisters; Marjorie Comny and Betty S. Paul.
